CGC Trading Cards™ is excited to announce that, effective immediately, all cards earning a CGC Perfect 10 will automatically be given sub-grades. Collector feedback prompted this change, and CGC Trading Cards is pleased to now provide sub-grades for all cards that deserve the coveted CGC Perfect 10 grade, even when sub-grades are not requested.
Using a highly accurate 10-point grading scale, CGC Trading Cards evaluates cards, looking at each card’s Centering, Surface, Corners and Edges. The quality and condition of these elements — sub-grades — determines a card’s overall CGC grade.
A CGC Perfect 10 is a card that has received the grade of CGC Pristine 10 with all four sub-grades being 10. This “quad 10” is the best a card can be. It has no post-production flaws under 10-times magnification in all four sub-grades.
With this update, if a card warrants the CGC Perfect 10 grade, CGC Trading Cards will print the “quad 10” sub-grades on the card’s certification label, regardless of whether sub-grades were requested with the submission. Please note that no refunds will be given for sub-grades when a card receives a CGC Perfect 10 if the sub-grades were requested by the submitter.
Since launching in July of 2020, CGC Trading Cards has already graded more than a million trading cards, attesting to the trust and confidence that collectors have in CGC Trading Cards’ expert certification services. With this update, CGC Trading Cards looks forward to awarding the CGC Perfect 10 grade to all cards that merit it.
